Sales in the year ended 30 January 2010 were over £10.5 billion, over half of which was generated outside the UK, with adjusted pre-tax profit up almost 50% to £547 million.
Kingfisher plc is Europe’s leading home improvement retail group and the third largest in the world, with around 840 stores in eight countries in Europe and Asia. Its main retail brands are B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt, Screwfix. Kingfisher also has a 50% joint venture business in Turkey with Koç Group, and a 21% interest in, and strategic alliance with Hornbach, Germany’s leading large format DIY retailer.
Kingfisher plc is included in two of the main socially responsible investment indexes – the FTSE4Good and Dow Jones Sustainability indexes.
